Saluting Our Veterans
November 21, 2022
At Jefferson Healthcare Center, Veterans Day is so important to us. It is a day to set aside time to honor and show appreciation for all who have served in the United States military—in wartime or peace, living or deceased.
This year, we celebrated our veteran residents here at Jefferson Healthcare with a moving program put on by the Ashtabula County Veterans Service Commission under the direction of Aimee M. Borcicky, who herself is an Airforce veteran. There was real camaraderie observed between the gathered veterans as they were honored for their service. They all received a certificate and a pin during the ceremony. Afterward, there was fellowship along with a beautiful cake.

We had veterans who served all over in various branches of the military, including the Navy, the Army and the Marines. Our oldest veteran had served in Europe under General Eisenhower during WWII. We also had veterans that served in Korea as well as Vietnam and later. It was humbling to just be in the presence of these selfless heroes because of the amount of sacrifice and bravery they've displayed throughout their lifetimes.

It's truly a privilege to serve a few veterans here at Jefferson Healthcare with the highest level of care that they deserve. Thank you to all the men and women who have served our country! Happy Veterans Day!
