We believe that love only grows stronger with time, and we're fortunate to witness that every day through the beautiful couples in our community. From serendipitous meetings to years of shared memories, these love stories remind us that true love is about care, patience, and building a life together.
This Valentine's season, we are honored to spotlight some of the incredible couples who have built lasting legacies of love. Their journeys are filled with wisdom, laughter, and devotion, and we are privileged to share these heartwarming stories with you.
Love has a way of finding us when we least expect it, and for Ronald and Mary Ann Plitt, that moment happened in 1971 at the Gazette. A simple workplace connection quickly blossomed into something undeniable. By April of 1972, they were engaged, and by the following November, they were husband and wife—ready to take on life together.

Over the years, Ron and Mary Ann built a beautiful life, adopting and raising three wonderful children—two boys and a girl. Their journey has been filled with laughter, love, and the wisdom that only time can bring. When asked for their secret to a lasting marriage, Mary Ann jokingly says, “The woman is always right.” But in all seriousness, they both agree that lasting love takes commitment, understanding, and a willingness to give more than you take. “It’s not 50/50,” they say, “both partners have to give 95%.” They’ve also learned the value of choosing their battles and letting the little things go.
Even now, after 52 years together, their love remains as strong as ever. Each time Mary Ann leaves after a visit, they share a kiss—masked or not, proving that love knows no barriers.
At Jefferson Healthcare, we are honored to witness their beautiful love story and celebrate the deep connection they continue to share. Their journey is a testament to the power of love, patience, and unwavering devotion.
Eleanor Torres and Ray Dillon’s love story began in September 2000, when Eleanor was friends with Ray’s sister—a connection that would lead to a beautiful relationship built on care, laughter, and mutual respect. Over the years, Ray and Eleanor’s love has only grown stronger, with Ray always by Eleanor’s side, supporting her in countless ways.
Eleanor often speaks of how Ray has taken such good care of her, and it’s clear to see that their bond is one of deep, unwavering affection. Her children love Ray too, not just because he’s part of their family, but because of the way he has always looked out for Eleanor, ensuring she’s loved and cared for in the best way possible.
When asked for advice for younger couples, Ray offers his wisdom with a smile: “If you get in an argument, walk away. Either that, or agree and shut up.” It’s a simple, yet powerful reminder that love sometimes means knowing when to pause, listen, and keep the peace.
