Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Butler!

This month, Jefferson Healthcare Center is thrilled to celebrate the 65th wedding anniversary of our residents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Dorene Butler. Married on July 18, 1959, in Chardon, Ohio, Richard and Dorene’s love story began when Dorene and her friends helped care for the horses on Richard's grandparents’ farm. The two were married just a day before Richard's 20th birthday, and together, they raised two wonderful children, Patty and Paul.



When asked about the secret to their long-lasting marriage, Mrs. Butler shares that it takes a lot of patience, compromise, and understanding that the give and take is never an equal 50/50. It's this wisdom and love that have kept them strong through the years.

To honor this special occasion, Jefferson Healthcare will host a celebration for the Butlers on July 18th, complete with cake and flowers. The following day, the festivities will continue as the family gathers in our beautiful memory care unit courtyard to celebrate Richard’s 85th birthday.

We are delighted to be part of such a memorable milestone in the Butlers’ lives and look forward to many more happy years ahead for this wonderful couple.
