Annual Back to School Giveaway

Jefferson Healthcare Center was excited to participate in our sister facility's, Saybrook Landing, first annual Back to School Giveaway on Thursday, August 4, 2022. We were so humbled to be able to serve students from all over, including Lakeside and Buckeye School District. Students from Geneva, Jefferson, Conneaut, Pymatuning Valley, Madison, St. John’s, and even as far away as Youngstown attended the event as well. All students were entered into the door prize drawing that included two tablets and a Chromebook, all donated by Foundations Health Solutions.
After the kids retrieved their backpacks and school supplies, they could play games including cornhole, giant kerplunk and basketball. There was also a nutritious meal served with grilled hot dogs, potato chips and drinks. Although, it wouldn't be a party without the fresh popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy!

Even the rain didn’t stop the fun! Laughter could be heard throughout the backyard and into the parking lot. The kids, and even staff members, enjoyed playing games and having fun together. Some of the girls were even showing off their gymnastic moves and some of their dance moves from one of their performances.
One staff member said, “It was so nice to see all those smiles on the kid’s faces when they were showing off their book bags while waiting for their snow cones. I can’t wait for next year!”
Events like this are so important in helping children in our community, and surrounding communities, have access to the right tools to become successful in life. If we can help just one child in their educational journey, then it’s all worth it. This event helped everyone at Jefferson Healthcare give back to our community, as they give so much to our residents throughout the year.
